The Kenai Peninsula
The Kenai Peninsula, or Alaska’s playground as some like to call it, is one of the most magnificent sights to see in Alaska! There are numerous activities in the Kenai Peninsula area, ranging from bear viewing, dog sledding, kayaking, fishing, and more!
When it comes to fishing on the Kenai, there’s not just one type, there’s tons! Soaring Eagle Lodge offers deep sea trips of halibut, a combo of halibut and king salmon, and a multi species trip for cod, rockfish, halibut and king salmon. If the ocean isn’t your preferred method, we can also take you out via power boat or drift boat to the Kenai or Kasilof rivers to catch a multitude of different salmon (depending on the date of your visit.
Wildlife is abundant in these parts. Bears and moose roam, eagles fly overhead, and whales pop up in the least expected moments. There’s no shortage of things to see in this area. We often have moose visit right on our property. For moose safety tips, please visit: https://www.nps.gov/wrst/planyourvisit/moose-safety.htm. They may be cute, but they can also be dangerous.
If you aren’t comfortable viewing wildlife roadside, check out our guided excursions: https://www.soaringeaglelodge.com/things-to-do-in-alaska. You can also do a flightseeing tour which would provide an opportunity to see the glaciers and beautiful mountainous land from the air.
